I took some nice photos myself was here on an icy day in Jan 06, travelling to Munlochy by bus and just looking around the area as I had just discovered that my G-G-grandfather had been born in the Knockbain parish, probably Munlochy, in 1812. This is the knockbain parish church but I gather it is a modern one. I would have liked to have seen the freechurch, signposted about a mile south, but didn't get the chance.
This is the church at Munlochy, my g.g.father Robert Wilson was, i am told the master mason and contractor at the building. He was born at Avoch 1815, died 1859, at Burnside. Not sure yet where that is exactly but it is in Munlochy, probably at Taewig Croft where his wife's family lived.
I was christened there in 1933, I have been trying to get any records of the building of the church but without success. Does anyone have any knowledge of the buildings?
